Finally the wait for the windows phone 8 is over and Steve Ballmer,CEO of Microsoft Corp, has let the warrior out for the battle. The introduction of a better version of Windows Phone was triggered by the overwhelming sales of its rival’s basically Android smart phones. This platform of Windows is promising for game developers as they can build using the present codes and it supports multi core processor by the adaptive core usage. Now battery is out of the picture for gamers.

There would be two versions of Windows phones as per launch
The ARM-based processor tablets are 9.3mm (0.4 inches) thick - slightly sleeker than the iPad and runs on the Windows RT version with storage options of 32GB or 64GB.The chipset is supposed to be manufactured by nVIDIA. There is a small glitch with this version of WM 8 as applications are to be programmed from the scratch making the applications limited for now.
The versions using Intel's x86 technology run Windows 8 Pro and are 13.5mm (0.5 inches) thick. These can run Metro and an updated version of the "classic" desktop meaning they can use software designed for earlier editions of Windows, although some programs will need to be updated to be compatible. The Intel Chipset tabs are available in 64GB and 128GB.

Both these devices are ‘digital ink’ compatible which enables them to accept hand written inputs at 600dpi(dots per second)
Possible reactions from the market from this launch can be cannibalization, where one version of the phone eats up the market of the other  as users are not very concerned of the chipset but with the performance. Microsoft can avoid this reaction by strategically pricing the two versions to different target groups keeping the apps in mind as Android is again a rival.
